Android monitor file for changes

It's OK to use a Mac if you're also an Android fan. You don't have to apologize. In fact, I'd prefer it if you don't. Use what you want. Use what works for you. Don't worry what anyone else thinks. (Chances are that's what led you to Android in the first place.)

But if you are using a computer from Cupertino, you will need an extra piece of software if you want to transfer files over USB and your device is running Android 3.0 or higher. It's not a huge deal, and it takes just a few seconds to set up. Here's the scoop:

It's that easy. The only real caveat with this tool is that there's a 4-gigabyte file size limit on transfers. If you want to copy over anything larger than that -- say, a movie -- you'll need to do it via another method, such as adb.

Android is an operating system based on the Linux kernel. Android is developed in the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). This project is lead by Google.

The Android operating system can be divided into the four areas as depicted in the following graphic. An Android application developer typically works with the two layers on top to create new Android applications.

Libraries and runtime - The libraries for many common framework functions, like graphic rendering, data storage, web browsing. Also contains the Android Runtime, as well as the core Java libraries for running Android applications.

Note: Most smartphones cannot use MHL and USB simultaneously on a single port. To use both features at the same time, a separate HDMI port is needed (Motorola Razr/Razr HD, Xperia S/Acro S, Asus Padfone), or the upcoming MHL2 port. There is also a non-standard solution available (Samsung Galaxy S3/S4/Note2). [ citation needed ]

Katherine Noyes, writing for PC World , noted "As a longtime Ubuntu fan, I have to admit I'm especially excited by the prospect of having my Ubuntu desktop available on my phone, wherever I go." [4]

Joey Sneddon, writing for OMG! Ubuntu! noted "Both [Android and Ubuntu] run at the same time on the same device. The net result of this is a super efficient workflow." [9]

Root Explorer is the best app for viewing and editing system files on your phone. It’ll cost you $4, but it’s definitely worth it. It’s been downloaded more than half a million times and has a 4.7 star rating on the Play Store.

When you root your phone, you unlock the entire file system, but you still need special software to access it. This is where Root Explorer comes in.

Upon launching the app for the first time, you’re asked to grant root privileges . From there you’re thrown right into the root of the file system. It’s mounted as read only by default, to avoid any chance of you doing any damage.
